Learning disability day service

Building abilities

The Hub is committed to helping ensure everyone plays a full and inclusive role in society. We offer a personalised day service to support adults with learning disabilities.

We focus on developing a wide range of life skills, improving health and well-being and encouraging our service users to become active members of the community.

  • Activities include:
  • Fitness and sports classes including dodge ball, badminton and dance
  • Arts and crafts activities
  • Community gardening and cooking lessons through our ‘Plant it, Grow it, Eat it!’ project
  • Visits to local parks, cinemas and sports games
  • Support with life skills such as budgeting, independent travel and jobs around the house

The day service takes place Monday to Friday between 09:30–15:30 and costs £48/day, which includes refreshments, snacks and the cost of activities.

We encourage our users to obtain a Kirklees Passport and Bus Pass to minimise the cost of entry to leisure centres and transportation costs around the community.
